“My son attended the Specialized Career Guidance Youth Works Construction Program this summer, and it was top-notch! Judi’s understanding of the teenage psyche enabled her to assemble a program that reached my son on so many levels. He learned tons of information not only about the carpentry and construction industry but also about the requirements that a young adult needs to secure a job and succeed in the workforce. He learned how to take his dream of becoming a carpenter and contractor and piece together all of the steps it will take to reach it. He also learned that if he pivots into a new field, such as electrical work, that is okay too. Judi reached my son’s heart with her genuine, authentic kindness and caring. She reached his mind with her endless attention to detail that put together such powerful job site field trips and presentations. She reached his stomach with the delicious lunches and snacks served at the program each day (which is very important to a growing teen)! She also reached my son’s soul by becoming an ally for him on his path to the world of work and the ultimate goal of self-actualization. “

“It was especially a pleasure to present to such an engaged group of individuals yesterday! The associates of the YouthWorks Summer Construction Exploratory Program really impressed me with their readiness for our presentation as well as the questions they had for us throughout the presentation and after! Everyone was taking notes on our presentation and particularly the most important parts about taking the next steps toward applying to the EPUT program!
The open binders in front of everyone with the colorful “skill” flashcards laid out next to them on the table really let me know that these individuals looking to be the best version of themselves really meant business! I wish all the best to the YouthWorks Summer Construction Exploratory Program and especially to Judi Vigna and her team for coordinating everything! I wish there were 100 more programs like this in the state!”
– Jared Ciriello, Underground Apprentice, EPUT Alum, Eversource Energy
“I had the pleasure of meeting associates of the YouthWorks Summer Construction Exploratory Program and sharing information about the EPUT program, a pipeline to employment opportunity offered at Eversource Energy. The students were prompt, prepared and highly engaged during the presentation. They asked questions and were very receptive to learning more about life-changing opportunities. I commend Judi and her team on an outstanding job helping develop and prepare the associates for employment opportunities and a brighter future. Through YWSCEP, it is evident that great leadership and a passion for helping others become their best is at play. When I think of prospective EPUT applicants, I get excited about the possibility of having YouthWorks Summer Construction Exploratory Program associates apply to the program. The personal and professional development that they are receiving as associates of YWSCEP is providing a foundation for success. I look forward to a continued partnership with Judi and the YWSCEP team. What they are doing in the lives of these individuals is truly remarkable!”

“I have worked with Judi professionally for over 4 years now, and my experience has only been excellent. Our early focus was to see what educational and working environments fit best for me. After countless college visits, we decided it was best to follow my career path in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, I am a graduating senior studying mechanical engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology with a minor in manufacturing. Throughout my college experience, Judi and I have contacted numerous employers presenting my skillsets in an organized and thoughtful manner. Judi was able to bridge the gap between myself and the employers I was applying to, as well as how to prepare for interviews. When I received Co-Op offers for employment Judi was there to help me understand what deals to consider and which to respectfully decline. In a few months, I will be completing my academics and entering the workforce, and I am sure that with my academic experience and Judi’s career guidance I will find the best work environment available.

“Judi is one of the most honest, hardworking, dedicated women I know! Without Judi’s passion for helping others, I wouldn’t have the connections I have now. I’m extremely proud to have Judi in my corner and the relationship we built!”

“I am extremely lucky to have had Judi Vigna’s advice and guidance throughout these past three years. Judi exposed me to things that I didn’t know were available to me. Judi has pushed me, supported me and helped me navigate different opportunities through all three years of my high school career.”
– Yaxsarie Velazquez, College Student
“Because of the opportunities Judi provided me at Eastern Bank and Gordon Atlantic Insurance, I was able to refine my career goals and gain professional skills early on in my career and ahead of the curve. Judi helped me with all the steps of the job application process, including resume help, interview prep, and even business fashion advice. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her!”

“During my sophomore year of college, I was in charge of planning an important fundraising event for my chapter of Engineers Without Borders. The purpose of the event was to raise money for our water security project with a partner community in Ecuador, and to inform people about our work. Our chapter had struggled with putting on events like this in the past, and despite my enthusiasm, I knew very little about how to run a successful fundraiser. Given her background in grassroots outreach and event planning, I reached out to Judi and asked for knowledge and advice on my situation. Judi was happy to help, and we discussed our current fundraising strategies and areas we could improve. Judi gave us the direction, language, and confidence to employ new ideas surrounding marketing, sponsor outreach, and programming. Some of these ideas included featuring a keynote speaker, holding a 50/50 raffle, and asking the president of our university to donate a lunch with her as a silent auction item. Thanks to the strategies we used, we raised more money than we ever had, which helped support an implementation trip to Ecuador later that year that brought 10,000 liters of rainwater storage capacity to our partner community.”
– Van Harting, College Graduate
